On October 25, 2008, the world bid farewell to the eminent singer and composer, Muslim Magomayev, a People's Artist of the USSR, who would have celebrated his 80th birthday this year.
In commemoration of the legendary Azerbaijani artist, a concert honoring the 80th anniversary of Muslim Magomayev was conducted at the Heydar Aliyev Palace. This concert program was organized as part of the "Əbədiyaşarlar" initiative, under the direction of conductor Mustafa Mehmandarov, and featured the participation of the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra, named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, along with renowned vocalists who performed songs from the illustrious performer's repertoire.
It is worth noting that the Azerbaijani Minister of Culture, Anar Kerimov, joined the event and shared insights about Muslim Magomayev's life and artistic journey with the attendees.
